John A. Bollinger is an esteemed American author and financial analyst renowned for his contributions to technical analysis. He developed Bollinger Bands®, a popular technical analysis tool that adapts to volatility using standard deviation. His influential book, “Bollinger on Bollinger Bands” (2001), has been translated into eleven languages.

Since 1987, Bollinger has published the Capital Growth Letter, providing technical analysis of financial markets. He pioneered the concept of Rational Analysis, which integrates technical, fundamental, quantitative, and behavioral analysis.

A chartered market technician (CMT) and chartered financial analyst (CFA), Bollinger founded Bollinger Capital Management and served as the Chief Market Analyst for the Financial News Network.
